San Miguel de Allende

In April 2016, Dory led an Art Escapes workshop in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Our home in San Miguel was the beautiful Hotel Hacienda el Santuario, set in a restored 18th century villa with splashing fountains, plant-filled patios, and vine covered walls.

Participants learned about color triads, color quartets, drip paintings and faux calligraphy. They painted from value sketches, decorated their own personal nicho shrines and took and edited photographs which they used as a source for watercolor paintings. And they found time for a welcome reception, a cocktail party at a lovely local home, a cooking lesson at a leading San Miguel restaurant and a festive and elegant closing dinner.
